The International Society of Media in Public Health (ISMPH) is a non-governmental organization
registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission under registration number CAC/IT/42107 on
December 3, 2010. ISMPH was founded to mainstream the media as an influential tool to expedite the
dissemination of healthcare information, enhance healthcare delivery, and foster development in
Nigeria.
The assessment of socio-economic development in various regions, particularly in Africa and other
developing nations, is heavily influenced by significant public health challenges such as sanitation, access
to clean water, adequate shelter, and the state of the environment. These critical concerns play an
integral role in shaping national development objectives and are fundamental to the attainment of the
Sustainable Development Goals. (SDGs).
ISMPH recognizes and appreciates the crucial contributions made by the media in championing public
health matters as essential human rights issues and integral components of societal progress and
development. This acknowledgment motivates our ongoing efforts to advance the intersection of health
and human rights through our advocacy and initiatives.
To address critical public health challenges, ISMPH has implemented comprehensive array of health
promotion initiatives across various states in Nigeria, with the invaluable support of local and
international partners and donors. Through these efforts, ISMPH aims to improve the overall health and
well-being of the Nigerian population by promoting healthy behaviors and providing access to essential
healthcare services.
The critical stakeholders of ISMPH encompass governmental entities, policymakers, legislators, religious
and traditional dignitaries, media experts, delegates from the private sector, healthcare professionals,
women, youth, individuals with disabilities.
